Mr. Martinez represents some of South Florida’s leading major corporations in litigation and general corporate advice. Mr. Martinez specializes in creditors’ rights and takes a case from start to post judgement enforcement, including executions. Mr. Martinez also focuses on the prosecution and defense of a variety of complex commercial matters, encompassing real estate, contract, business tort, receivership, corporate dissolutions, and personal injury. He is the Special Master for the City Coral Gables where he presides over civil fines. He is a member of the Florida Bar, the District of Columbia Bar, the federal bar of the United States District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. Prior to establishing the firm, Mr. Martinez worked for a mid size firm and a large South-Eastern US firm that represented Fortune 500 clients.
Mr. Martinez received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami in May 2002 and was admitted to practice in October 2002. While at UM, Mr. Martinez was Editor in Chief of the International and Comparative Law Review (2001-2002) and an Articles and Comments Editor (2000-2001). At UM he received several awards, including: Dean’s Certificate of Achievement Professional Responsibility & Ethics and Student Leader from the UM Law Alumni Association. He received his Bachelors from Temple University, in Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Martinez has studied and lived abroad in Spain and the United Kingdom.
Prior to working as an attorney, Mr. Martinez was an Intelligence Officer with the United States Central Intelligence Agency. While at CIA he earned two Exceptional Performance Awards, including one for work during the Congo crisis.
Mr. Martinez is active in various professional and community boards. He is a member of the Dade County Bar Association, the Cuban American Bar Association and the American Bar Association, African Committee. In December 2002 he was appointed to the Miami-Dade Boundaries Commission, where he served until May 2005, when he was appointed as Assistant Secretary to the Industrial Development Authority, where he is still serving.
